This position will play a key role in expanding the Baylor Health Care System's (BHCS) capability in clinical effectiveness research and in health care quality to promote "Best Care." Primary responsibilities include grant/project management contributions to health care research projects to support internal multi-disciplinary initiatives and BHCS clinical scholars and write Federal (NIH/AHRQ) and private grant applications for the purpose of implementing projects upon funding. Research may include the areas of health care improvement, clinical effectiveness and outcomes, and economic, financial and policy analysis.
Job Functions
I. Collaborate in health services research with BHCS clinical scholars, senior members of the CHCR and BHCS investigators to seek external funding (especially NIH/AHRQ RFA/RFP and R01) by:
1 Developing research designs
2 Conducting preliminary analyses
3 Preparing grant applications
II. Collaborate in health services research with BHCS clinical scholars, senior members of the CHCR and BHCS investigators by participating in initial to intermediate stages of projects by:
1. Conducting project management
2. Continuing to develop research designs, collecting data and using appropriate analytic tools with the support of CHCR staff
3 Conducting statistical analyses with the support of CHCR staff
III. Collaborate in health services research with BHCS clinical scholars, senior members of the CHCR and BHCS investigators by participating in final stages of projects by:
1. Conducting project management
2. Finalizing statistical analyses with the support of CHCR staff
3. Working with investigators to develop manuscripts for publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals (such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, etc)
Requirements: Master Degree plus 4 Years of Experience
